Divine Pause: Suspension of Suprabhata Rituals at Tirumala Temple Ahead of Dhanurmasa Festival
Tirupati: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has decided to temporarily suspend the pre-dawn Suprabhata rituals at the hill temple of Lord Venkateswara in anticipation of the upcoming ‘Dhanurmasa’ festival, set to commence on December 17.
During this period, the recitation of the ‘Thiruppavai,’ a collection of religious hymns, will take place as part of the daily awakening of the deity. The TTD officials have announced that the Suprabhatam rituals will resume from January 15.
A significant event at the Lord Venkateswara temple in Tirumala is the Koil Alwar Thirumanjanam, scheduled for December 19. These rituals are performed as a prelude to the auspicious Vaikunta Ekadasi, which is slated for celebration on December 23.
In light of these upcoming events, the TTD has decided to cancel the weekly Astadala Pada Padmaradhana Seva at the temple. The move is in alignment with the special arrangements and focus on the festive and religious activities during this period.
